The UFO Casebook was contacted by Patrick U. with information about a UFO sighting with video at Venice, California. The incident occurred May 2, 2004 11:30am. Patrick was kind enough to make his film available for download, so all of those interested can see the object in flight. I wish we had more like him who were not afraid to share their footage with the world. I was very impressed with the film, and do not adhere to the theory put forth by some that he filmed a balloon. Patrick gave me this description of what he saw and filmed. I just wanted to report that I saw and videotaped a silver disc over Venice, CA. The object moved slowly, but did not rock or tumble like a balloon. The person who took this photo at Niagara Falls does not believe he captured anything, basically because in two subsequent photos taken right after this image, there's nothing there. However, there is enough data present on this high resolution image to examine which suggests something was indeed there... at the least for that moment when this picture was snapped.
In the photo a distant monument of recognizable shape is visible giving us an excellent item to zoom in on with the same factor as we do the UFO. This allows for a unique comparison of clarity in this high resolution digital image to determine how much distortion is taking place with the UFO in the image. It would appear that the spire-like monument in the distance is considerably farther away than the UFO is from the photographer, else the UFO is gargantuan, which is unlikely. This is clearly not a bird or a plane and has a distinct disc shape with corresponding shadow and highlight with the rest of the photo. There is no evidence of digital tampering whatsoever. There also appears to be little or no motion distortion. NOTE: Quite a few people have emailed to suggest that what the photographer caught was a blimp. Unfortunately, that can't be as we have two subsequent shots taken just seconds after this one and there is no object visible at all. It would take a blimp some time to cruise out of sight.

Recently the UFO Casebook received an email report and a very interesting video from Great Britain. The gentleman who sent the information will remain anonmymous to the general public.
On March 3, 2003, BBC news was making a report on recent developments in the Iraq war situation from near Baghdad. The report they showed included a live video feed showing some battle footage. During this broadcast, the cameraman's attention was drawn to a strange object up and to his right. He moved his camera to see the object, which seemed to "float" into view briefly, and then soon disappear. The object is certainly a triangle shape, or has three lights on it in a triangular pattern. HOPKINSVILLE -- August 2005 marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary story of "little green men" visiting Kelly.
Several community leaders met Thursday night at the Commerce Center on Fort Campbell Boulevard to start planning a festival for Aug. 19-21, 2005, with the alien encounter as the central theme. "I thought it would be fun to have a 50th anniversary celebration or festival," said Cheryl Cook, executive director for the Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. "We'll have something for all ages. We want to tie in the whole community." Ideas for the Kelly green men festival include a UFO expert symposium, a parade, poster and essay contests for children, a costume ball and a golf scramble. The Kelly legend started on Aug. 21, 1955, when residents reported the landing of a spaceship near the home of "Lucky" Sutton on Old Madisonville Road. Sutton and other family members said 12 little men landed in a spaceship and then battled them at the house for hours. Although the creatures are now known as "the little green men of Kelly," original stories reported they were silver. Festival organizers are seeking any photos and memorabilia from 1955 and anyone with information about the Kelly event. Civic groups, organizations and businesses are also needed to help with the festivities, Cook said. Anyone interested in the event can contact Cook at tourism@commercecenter.org, call 885-9096 or can attend the next planning meeting at 5 p.m. June 15 at the Commerce Center. "We think we can get thousands of visitors to our community," Cook said. The recent Mexican military video has had an effect on many people, including this Casebook reader who recalls a very similar sighting.
I saw those bright, glowing objects on TV here on the local news in New York City. Funny thing is that in about 1964 when I was living at a sleep-away camp in rural central Michigan, I saw those same lights in the sky. I remember there being two clusters of lights "flying" in formation in the bright blue afternoon sky. After a few seconds of slow travel, they zoomed across the sky and beyond the horizon with incredible speed. I was about 12 years old at the time. I didn't know what these objects were and probably had never heard of the term "UFO", so I really didn't think anything of it, because, as a kid, I just figured who would care what some kid saw in the sky. I never told any one of this sighting and really just forgot about it until I saw those pictures a week or so ago on TV. My sighting was very similar, if not exactly the same. The following report was generated through email. Joe has a website with pictures of what he describes as a petrified alien's foot. He sent the information below: I am a Building Consultant and I found this while building a parking lot at a shopping center. We were finding lots of petrified wood and I thought that it was very interesting and I told the foreman that was hauling the material in about the wood we had found. He says, "that's nothing we find lots of that at the pit, its full of petrified wood." This is in an area of Alberta Canada where there are lot of fossils. I have examined the (Alien Foot) with great interest and I am convinced as a layman that it is a genuine foot. The problem I have is the size of the foot and the type of boot it is wearing. If it is indeed a foot, it would have to come from a being less than 2 feet tall, the reason I say that is I don't think it could maintain any equilibrium if it were much bigger. I didn't go very public with it but I showed it to my friends and most all think it is a foot as well. There are so many unrealistic things on the net I was hesitant about being subject to criticism but decided to give it a go anyway. 1966, Michigan Sheriff confirms UFO, tracked on radar, |
March 14-20, 1966: Southeastern Michigan. From about 3:50 a.m. on March 14 and for 2-1/2 hours thereafter, Washtenaw County sheriffs and police in neighboring jurisdictions reported disc-shaped objects moving at fantastic speeds and making sharp turns, diving and climbing, and hovering. At one point, four UFOs in straight-line formation were observed. Selfridge AFB confirmed tracking UFOs over Lake Erie at 4:56 a.m. Following is the log of "Complaint No. 00967" signed by Cpl. Broderick and Deputy Patterson of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department: 3:50 a.m. Received calls from Deputies Bushroe and Foster, car 19, stating that they saw some suspicious objects in the sky, disc, star-like colors, red and green, moving very fast, making sharp turns, having left to right movements, going in a Northwest direction. 4:04 a.m. Livingston County [sheriff's department] called and stated that they also saw the objects, and were sending car to the location. 4:05 a.m. Ypsilanti Police Dept. also called stated that the object was seen at the location of US-12 and I-94 [intersection of a U.S. and an Interstate highway]. 4:10. a.m. Monroe County [sheriff's department] called and stated that they also saw the objects. 4:20 a.m. Car 19 stated that they just saw four more in the same location moving at a high rate of speed. 4:30 a.m. Colonel Miller [county civil defense director] was called; he stated just to keep an eye on the objects that he did not know what to do, and also check with Willow Run Airport. 4:54 a.m. Car 19 called and stated that two more were spotted coming from the Southeast, over Monroe County. Also that they were side by side. 4:56 a.m. Monroe County [sheriff's department] stated that they just spotted the object, and also that they are having calls from citizens. Called Selfridge Air Base and they stated that they also had some objects [presumably on radar] over Lake Erie and were unable to get any ID from the objects. The Air Base called Detroit Operations and were to call this Dept. back as to the disposition. 5:30 a.m. Dep. Patterson and I [Cpl. Broderick] looked out of the office and saw a bright light that appeared to be over the Ypsilanti area. It looked like a star but was moving from North to East. 6:15 a.m. As of this time we have had no confirmation from the Air Base." Washtenaw County deputies B. Bushroe and J. Foster formally stated: "This is the strangest thing that [we] have ever witnessed. We would have not believed this story if we hadn't seen it with our own eyes. These objects could move at fantastic speeds, and make very sharp turns, dive and climb, and hover with great maneuverability. We have no idea what these objects were, or where they could have come from. At 4:20 a.m. there were four of these objects flying in a line formation, in a north westerly direction, at 5:30 these objects went out of view, and were not seen again." Deputy Bushroe told the press: "It would swing back and forth like a pendulum, then shoot upward at tremendous speed, hover and then come down just as fast." Dexter police and Livingston County sheriffs, contacted by Bushroe and Foster, "reported that they saw the same objects engaging in the same maneuvers." March 17, 1966, Milan, Michigan. 4:25 a.m. Sgt. Nuel Schneider and Deputy David Fitzpatrick saw top-shaped objects making sharp maneuvers. They alternately hovered, rose and fell quickly, darted around at jet-like speed, their light dimming and brightening periodically. In a report to NICAP, the officers stated that two objects were operating together, circling and flying in formation, while a third object hovered at lower altitude. March 20, 1966, Dexter, Michigan. About 8:30 p.m. Frank Mannor and family, and dozens of other witnesses, reported that a domed oval object with "quilted" or "waffled" surface and lights in the center and on each end had landed in a swampy field. Deputies David Fitzpatrick and Stanley McFadden parked car #34 adjacent to the area and began a search with Frank Mannor. "While in the woods area," their report states, "a brilliant light was observed from the far edge of the woods, and upon [our] approaching, the light dimmed in brilliance....The brilliant light [then] again appeared, and then disappeared. A continued search of the area was conducted, through swamp and high grass, with negative results. Upon returning to the patrol vehicle, the undersigned officers were informed that one of the objects had been hovering directly over the area where our flashlight beams had been seen, and then [it] departed in a west direction of flight, at high rate of speed." As he and other officers were rushing to the scene, Officer Robert Hartwell of the Dexter Police Department saw a luminous object buzz his car. Robert Taylor, Dexter Police Chief, said he watched an object in the field from Frank Mannor's home on a knoll overlooking the area. It appeared as a pulsating red, glowing object. Breaking UFO Reports, (last update, 06-02-04)
N.M., a criminologist and businesswoman, was driving along the Casteldefels to Barcelona highway at around midnight when both she and her children witnessed "to the left of the road, that is, toward the interior, since the beach is on the left" an unidentified flying object of considerable size, described as a "rhomboid with one of its vertexes broken off or truncated, or rather folded in," having a shiny orange color.
The sighting occurred precisely on the stretch of road between Gava and Viladecans and the witness contacted www.mundomisterioso.com in case other witnesses had reported seeing the same phenomenon.

"There were four people seeing this," Bill reported,
"Two adults and two children. We were having a picnic on
the bank of Walverden Reservoir when our eldest grandchild
said, 'Look at that stick in the sky!'"
"And this is just what it looked like--a black line
in the sky, like a stick. It was stationary, not moving
except to turn slightly or go slower. The 'stick' was a
diagonal line going from left to right. It was about one
inch (2.5 centimeters) long in the sky. We continued to
watch it for about 20 to 30 minutes, and then it turned to
the east, or went shorter and vanished."
The object's "height was deceptive because it was a
lot bigger than a plane would be at the same distance."

At first I thought
it could've been a plane, but I think it was a UFO. It
looked like a saucer. It was cool. I don't know the
height (altitude) and speed, but it was traveling high and
fast. It took off to the east (into New Jersey--J.T.),
and I lost sight of it after several minutes."

"I saw a bright blue light descending from the west
to the east at 12:40 a.m.," John reported, "Duration was
approximately one second. There was no sound. I have
never seen anything to which I could compare this
sighting."
"I have lived near Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta for
the last 33 years. I have never seen anything move this
fast, either on land or in the air. I would like to know
if there were any similar sightings here in Riverdale."

Lake Erie - Mary reports, "I'm very interested to know if anyone
reported seeing a large disk last October in NE Ohio, about 8:45
PM." It was pretty dark by the time this sighting was
over. I saw white lights flying east to west towards Cuyahoga
County Airport at about the right height and speed for an airplane.
Instead of going down towards the airport, it suddenly veered up
and arced around to the north and sped up. I was on the freeway
(271N) and the lights passed out of my view behind trees. The
freeway arcs around, and I could then see the lights making a very
wide arc NW to N towards Lake Erie. I merged onto 90W and
lost sight of the lights again until I got past the Bishop Road exit.
Then I saw the lights swoop extremely fast from the north to a
complete stop over Euclid Avenue. a couple of blocks east of
the freeway. It beamed a very strong white beam of light down
on a house. The beam fanned out to light up most of the house.
The bottom of object was only slightly higher than my eye level
on the freeway overpass. The reflected light from the beam lit up
the front and the edges of the craft which was a very large silver
disk. Its width seemed to be the size of a city block. It's height
was about a fifth of its width. There was some sort of bumps or
protrusions on the bottom of it. It turned off its beam aimed at
the house and I couldn't see it any more. I pulled off at the
Euclid Avenue exit but couldn't see the thing any more when I

"I was watching it for about ten to 15 minutes as it appeared to float away and come back. "It looked like a huge floating cigar and was a couple of hundred feet up. "It didn't do any quick turns or have flashing lights and there were no green men but it was certainly unidentified. "My wife came home and I was quite excited - this is the first time I have ever seen a UFO. "I'm a great fan of science fiction but I do have my feet firmly on the ground. "I have always wanted to see a UFO but never thought I would. "I am sure this is something we can explain but I hope not." Vanessa, 32, who works for American Express in Brighton, said: "Ben has never claimed to have seen a UFO before and he's not a crackpot. "I don't know if it was a UFO but I have seen the video and it does look a bit odd."
A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence said: "We do not investigate UFOs so I am not aware of what Mr Losh could have seen. "We used to investigate UFOs many years ago in the interests of national security and never found anything that could not be explained." The sighting comes weeks after alien enthusiast Brian Barnes spotted a UFO from his Bevendean home. The 62-year-old filmed the object as it hung in the sky above Shoreham airport and reported the incident to the police and coastguards. Ben's claims come as increasing numbers of UFO sightings are reported across the world. Video footage recorded by the Mexican air force showing 11 shining objects picked up by radar was released on Tuesday last week. A number of sightings were reported in the Iranian capital Tehran during the last few days of April. State television broadcast video images of a sparkling white disc and other UFOs have been reported in cities to the north. Ben, who has been joking with friends about his experience, said: "The fact there have been so many sightings around the world makes me look slightly less mad." DATE: 06.01.04. On Sunday, May 9, Ms. N.M. saw an unidentified flying object in the skies over Barcelona while in the company of two of her children.
On Saturday, May 22, 2004, at 3 p.m., Bill and Margo
Wells and their two grandchildren were having a picnic on
the shore of the Walverden Reservoir near Nelson,
Lancashire, UK when they spotted something unusual in the
sky approaching from the west.
On Sunday, May 16, 2004, Rufus Thomas was outdoors in
his hometown of Bangor, Pennsylvania (population 5,319)
when he looked up and "saw a strange object approaching
from the west. It was gray or white.
On Sunday, May 30, 2004, at 12:40 a.m., John McCall
was outside at his home in Riverdale, Georgia, near
Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport, when he saw
something extremely unusual in the sky.

25 miles from Lake Erie on May 12, 2004, similar to one
reported below.
ST. LOUIS – The witness was staying at the Radissson Hotel on 4th Street directly across
from the Arch and went out on the balcony to look and noticed a star-like light that appeared to be swinging like a lantern. The observer states, "I then focused on this light and to my surprise it moved closer and continued it's swinging motion in the sky. it then moved off to the west at a preposterous speed." MILWAUKEE – Two witnesses heading east on I94, about 20 miles from Milwaukee, sighted a bright green fireball. It was probably a meteorite, but I've never heard of one like this. CHASWORTH -- On Friday, May 14th 2004, at 4:20 PM ,a courier I've known for about a year was heading east on the 118 Freeway just before the 405 South observed a bright light that came out of the sky on the south side of the Freeway. He said, "It was as bright as the sun and the sphere like object came down and stopped just below the tree lines in the distance." He said, "It hovered and slowly descended. CABO ROJO - - Late at night on May 5, 2004, Mr. Aguirre, a fisherman reported seeing "strange lights" entering and leaving the sea and the cliffs near the famous Cabo Rojo light house in the southwestern corner of Puerto Rico. It is well known that UFO skywatches have taken place in the area and some of them have yielded positive results. Our survey of the site disclosed that the waters near one of the cliffs showed evidence of what could be termed remains of spiritual or witchcraft "trabajos" (artifacts). The height of another cliff gave us pause, perhaps as well as its magnetism. What is worth pointing out here is that many people claim having had unusual experiences in the vicinity of the lighthouse, giving rise to the belief that this area has intense paranormal activity. It must be made clear that the light house's beam has been confused with other surrounding lights, which makes the study of something taking place in the region even more interesting. One of the strange lights reported in recent days over the lighthouse, was far above the range of the light issued from the lighthourse. BRIGHTON -- UFO buzzed my back garden by Brendan Montague. A UFO captured on film hovering above Brighton is the latest in a spate of mysterious sightings across the world. Theatre technician Ben Losh spotted the strange cylindrical object hanging in the air above his home and rushed to grab his video camera. He managed to snatch footage of the large grey object as it drifted towards the golf course near Hollingbury. It is the second UFO sighting in Brighton in two months - a glowing globe was spotted near Shoreham airport last month. Ben was alone in his back garden, having a break from decorating, when he saw the object. The 32-year-old lives in Woodbourne Avenue with his wife Vanessa and two-year-old son Lucas. He filmed the sighting as evidence to show his skeptical wife. Ben said: "There was a long cylindrical object just hanging in the sky.
