Red Disk Observed by US Airways Airliner Passenger
The witness states: I was flying in today, from Dayton Oh, to New York, (LGA). We were descending, I would imagine we were somewhere over New Jersey. There are always many aircraft about in the NY corridor, so it's not uncommon to see different aircraft streaking by, below or to the side of you. I was flying in an Embrajer-145, 50 seat jet, operated by US Airways Express, Chautauqua Airlines. It was a very clear day today, (11-23-03)

Approx. 2 P. M. We must have been about 15 minutes from landing, because I remember the pilot saying as much. We were scheduled to land at 2:42P M but because of a tail wind we were going to come in early, around 2:15P M or so. Anyway, it seemed we were slowing down, then speeding up, which is not uncommon as you get into the flow of traffic, well, we were in the slowing down mode, when I looked out the window, (I was in a window seat, left side of the aircraft.) and I saw this red circular object pass to the side of us very quickly, then ascend with a lot of speed. It was traveling very fast, and what caught my eye was the shape.

It was definitely circular and a bright reddish color. I did a double take and tried to see where it went but it disappeared from view rapidly. I still do not know what I saw, and thought maybe you or someone on your site could shed some light on it. It just struck me as very odd, the shape of it, I've never seen anything that shape in the air before, and from an airplane, I really got a pretty good look at it, unlike the view one would get from the ground. It also appeared to move in a very kind of I don't know how to describe it like, jerky type motion. Not the fluid way a normal airplane would travel.

Anyway, maybe others have seen something similar. I don't know. I have been flying since I was a small child, I am now 36 yrs old, and I've never seen anything like that. My first thought was military, thoughts racing as they do when you live in NYC post 9/11. Like maybe it was a flair or something that was shot. The object seemed to be flying on its own, but it had that look initially like maybe it was launched from somewhere. I don't know, that was just my first impression.

But then after following it with my eyes for the brief time I was able to, it definitely seemed to be moving on its own power. I cannot tell you if we turned away from the object or the object turned away from us, or some combination of the two, as my eyes were just fixed on the object and I really wasn't paying attention to the exact movements of the airplane I was in, for that short time. I can tell you that the object did ascend rapidly in that jerky weird type of motion, as it passed us.

Again, the object I saw did not seem to behave like or look like any aircraft that I have ever seen. I am at a loss as to what I saw.

UFO Taunts Three Mechanics
"I’d never been so scared," said one of the protagonists of the strange and extraordinary adventure.

A team of three mechanics from Salta, who had ventured out to rescue a minibus belonging to a Canadian scientific expedition on the Chilean side of the Andean region bordering the provinces of Salta and Jujuy, had an unexpected brush with the unusual: an unidentified flying object (UFO) of considerable size, spherical, and having an "impressive white luminosity" followed them for over two hours on a straight road that links the communities of Susques and Punamarca through the international Jama Pass.

"I’d never been so scared. That thing didn’t belong to this world. It moved at an impossible speed and at one point came so close to us we thought it would collide," said Raul Eduardo Oviedo Tomas of the "Forani" mechanic shop in Salta. The north american researchers were stranded at San Pedro de Atacama. Headed by Dr. Randall, the scientists were conducting a survey of Cordilleran flora.

"We left Saturday on 4:45 from Salta toward the Cordillera. I asked two friends--Marco Figueroa and Alejandro--to accompany me so I wouldn’t have to do either the work or the journey alone. This was the first time I had driven those roads, and I was truly impressed, not just by the landscape and the desolation, but by the hardship. One has to climb a 70 kilometer-long incline to reach Chile, which can destroy the engine of any unit driven by a inexperienced motorist," said Oviedo Tomas, 37, with an athletic build.

He added: "We reached San Pedro de Atacama around 14 hours on the same day, but [upon reaching the site] we realized that it would be impossible to tow the Canadian minibus with my S10 Chevy--it weighed over 5000 kilos and one good look at its structure and equipment sufficed to establish that the only way to get it out of there would be using a "mosquito truck" or something similar. We therefore decided to return home."

Without hestitation, taking deep drags of a cigarette, Oviedo Tomas went on: "The road on the Argentinean side is trully horrible, especially when contrasted with the Chilean side, which is like a paved pool table, with signage and road markings. At that point, shortly before reaching Susques, the stones caused us a blowout, which caused us to continue the trip under stress, since there was no other spare tier. We thought to repair it in the little town [Susques] but the tire repairman was on holiday, so we had to continue regardless. It was still Saturday."

"At around 20:00 we left Susques for Punamarca. We were listeing to music and remarking about the impressive darkness and loneliness of this area, which is an upland plateau. Suddenly the lights and radio went out. I braked because I couldn’t see anything at all due to the darkned. "Stop fooling around!" Alejandro told me from the back seat."

"Meanwhile, I was moving all of the knobs and to see what had happened. Nothing worked, only the engine. Suddenly, on my right and at an [undetermined] distance, I saw a strange light. It was a small sphere that irradiated an intense white light. ’Did you see that?’ asked Marcos. I never got to answer, even though I thought [the light] was what they call ’la luz mala’ (the evil light), because it started moving swiftly toward us until it became enormous. It stopped and remained static. ’Don’t look at it!’ I told my friends, although I don’t know why. I accelerated and poured on as much speed as possible, however, that ’thing’ started to fly again in a perfect straight line. It didn’t make a single sound. Suddenly, it gained speed and in less than a second it vanshed toward the bottom of the plain."

"We were quiet and didn’t make a single remark, although all of us asked each other many times ’Did you see it? Did you see it?’. We went on in silence, although not for long, because other things happened that were truly unbelievable."

UFO Crashes in Dominican Republic

Hundreds in the Dominican Republic claim to have seen a UFO go down in the rain forests of Diego de Ocampo mountain, located near the Caribbean country's northern coastline.

"The object was seen from Santiago," a city 200 kilometers (120 miles) northwest of Santo Domingo, the national capital, "by cameraman Noendi Valerio of (TV) Channel 25, who claims having recorded the beam of light from his home in the city's Los Reyes sector."

"In Navarette, several residents claimed having seen the column of smoke given off by the alleged spaceship," when it crashed on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, and "which still has not been found in the impenetrable mountainous area of the communities of Fundacion, Paradero and Arroyo Blanco."

"However," the Dominican Republic's "Civil Aeronautics Accident Investigation Board is continuing to search at the site where the accident supposedly occurred."

"They believe it could have been an agricultural aircraft. However, since no rice grower has reported an accident--something they always do to collect the insurance on their cropdusters."

The morning of Thursday, November 6, 2003, "an aircraft from the Fuerza Aerea Dominicana (FAD or Dominican Air Force--J.T.) flew over the area but reported nothing" found.

"Participating in the search-and-rescue operations are members of all of the Dominican state's security organizations, according to a press report from the Civil Aeronautics press office."

(Editor's Comment: Meaning the hunt is on for any aliens who might have survived the crash, just as at Boyle, Ireland in 1995 and Varginha, Brazil in 1996.)

"The area in which the event allegedly occurred was surveyed by reporters from" the newspaper El Nacional on November 6, 2003. "It is extremely cloudy and the rains have not ceased. In spite of this, the impenetrable vegetation has also kept local volunteers and brigades of the police, the National Army, the Civil Defense and the Red Cross from continuing the search."

(Editor's Comment: But that won't hold back the Men in Black, the U.S. Army's Delta Force or the U.S. Air Force's Operation Moon Dust paratroopers. You can bet there are covert action teams in the Dominican Republic right now.)

"Residents of Gajo Alto, at the highest point of the mountain, claim having seen the beam of light but did not hear any detonation."

"Nothing had been recorded entering the Dominican Republic's airspace and the radars of Gregorio Lupero Airport" in San Felipe de Puerto Plata, "which are rather broad in their coverage, have no information about aircraft which flew over the area Wednesday night."

"Santiago astronomers do not dismiss the possibility that this could be a natural unidentified object. Residents in the mountainous northeastern corner" of the island nation "believes a beam of light fell to the ground like an aircraft."

"Ramon Caceres, scientific advisor to the city's Astronomy Club, stated that while there is no palpable evidence to affirm that an unidentified flying object is involved, 'it is nonetheless acceptable as a possibility in the scientific world" to say "that it was an aerolith (meteor--J.T.) or a UFO."

"He added that they (scientists) are duty-bound to investigate the possibility and, among other possibilities, it is also necessary to search the area in which a geological fault is located--a place where strange phenomena has allegedly taken place."

"Not long ago, a group of youngsters attending the Astronomy Club's meeting, claimed having seen a red-hued ball emerging from the Diego de Ocampo mountain's peak."

The mountain is located 25 kilometers (15 miles) north of Santiago and has an elevation of 1,250 meters (4,125 feet).

"'This red ball I'm telling you about ascended vertically and then vanished. Many lights were also seen at Isabel de Torres mountain during the (recent) earthquake,' Caceres said."

"Many claim, he continued, that it could have been a laser beam of a type known today 'but others say it could have been an airplane. Something truly startling has taken place.'"

"Victor Sabaster, a member of the Astronomy Club, also claims having seen the light, which has caused such a stir and has so many people wondering what it was they saw. They say the strange events continue to occur in the mountains in the wake of the September 20 (2003) earthquake."

"'What people claim having seen struck me a something natural, because a spacecraft wouldn't rise or fall, much less in the shape of an orb. This could have been an emanation of energy, nothing more,' said Reynaldo Castellanos."

"This morning (Sunday, November 9, 2003) elements of the Civil Defense, Aeronautics and the Red Cross, among others, resumed the search for the alleged private plane in the region of Altamira, Guananico and Navarette."

"'We haven't found anything yet, but we won't stop looking,' said Pedro Alberto Hernandez, a public relations officer of the Civil Aeronautics Division." (See the Dominican newspaper El Nacional for November 7, 2003, "Alleged crash of two lights in the Dominican Republic," and for November 9, 2003, "Authorities do not dismiss UFO flight path over the northeastern Dominican Republic." Muchas gracias a Scott Corrales y Gloria Coluchi para estos articulos de diario.)

(Editor's Comment: If live aliens are captured, the process will probably follow the standard extraction policy. Covert action teams on the ground move the aliens to a deserted area. A black helicopter airlifts the aliens to the nearest large airport. A military transport plane then ferries the aliens to Camp Condon, the P.O.W. camp for captured extraterrestrials, at Area 51. However, because Puerto Rico and the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba are so close to the crash site, it's possible that they might use black helicopters to take them to a secure facility like Camp X-ray in Guantanamo or the Salinas Training Area in Puerto Rico. Dominican readers, keep an eye out for black helicopters and, if you see any, send an email to UFO Roundup.)

From the UFO Casebook Archives...a piece of UFO history.

The Wales UFO Crash of 1974

A UFO crash which seems to hold up well to scrutiny is the one that occurred in the Berwyn Mountains of Wales. This incident took place in January 1974. On or about 8:30 P.M. on January 23, an extremely large disc-shaped object was observed falling from the skies over the city of Clwyd.. Approximately two hours earlier, several dozen witnesses across Lancashire and Chesshire had phoned in reports of a strange formation of bright green lights, which flew a haphazard pattern in a northwesterly direction.

After the unusual reports of 6:30, something crashed into the Berwyn Mountains, and created a frightening tremor, which measured 4.5 on the Richter Scale. This tremendous impact was felt in Chester, Wresham, Southport, Liverpool, and even in Greater Manchester. Phone reports poured in to police, television, and radio stations all across the affected area. Naturally, the force of the impact was initially assigned to a plane, a large plane, probably a jet passenger. Police and other rescue units were immediately sent to the Berwyns. The rescue crews were prepared for the worst; the unimaginable, horrific carnage created by such a devastating impact.

What was found in the isolation of the mountains was not what was expected. But, what was found? There was no passenger plane crash, no fire, no smoke, no bodies. At least that is what the general public was told. However, soon the Army was called in. Why? Residents of the city of Chester witnessed a convoy of Army trucks on the night of the impact. Some brave individuals followed the flow of Army trucks out of curiosity. There was no great surprise when the convoy headed straight to the sight of the earlier impact! Upon the military's arrival, the area was immediately cordoned off. Civilian rescuers and Police were not allowed into the area.

Berwyn Mountains

A nurse who lived fairly near the impact sight came forward with an amazing account. She told a local newspaper that a UFO the "size of the Albert Hall" had crashed into the Berwyn Mountains, and in the process, threw debris and bodies over a mile from the epicenter. She had walked up to one of the bodies, and was completely taken back when she realized that the body was not human, but alien! Before she could offer an account of her amazing find to others, the military took control. The nurse was taken to a secure area, and two Ministry of Defence officers ordered her to remain silent about her experience. She was told that a statement "would constitute a threat to national security and the defence of the realm".

Although the nurse was well known to many, she was never seen in the area again, and the news reporter she had told her story to refused to discuss the case until his death in 1979. Was the reporter also under military order? Probably. There is an extremely interesting aftermath to this incredible story. In 1990, electronics engineer Arthur Adams, still enthralled by the Wales story, decided to make a trip to the alleged sight of the crash. Amazingly, the Concorde employee found strange green colored pieces of metal which were fused into rock. He took samples of his find to his laboratory, and was stunned to find that a piece of the material the size of a cubic inch, emitted two kilowatts of electricity when hooked up to a volt meter. He took his findings to the "Daily Express," which ran a series of articles on Adams' discovery.

The articles breathed new life into the Berwyn crash story, but soon the Ministry of Defence stepped in and stopped the story from running. The compelling accounts of the Wales crash leave us with many unanswered questions. What became of the nurse? Are there any fragments of the material left today? What did cause the thundering impact that night? Many theories have been put forward. Some point to a prototype of an experimental craft, others state that a UFO crashed into the Berwyns. What happened to the bodies seen scattered over the area? The Wales crash of January 23, 1974, remains one of the best kept secrets in UFO history.

Did you know that...?
On Saturday, November 8, 2003, at 7:45 p.m., G.C. and his friends decided to go out to "a partially wooded clearing at the end of a dead-end road" just off Huron Avery Road in Huron, Ohio (population 7,598), to watch the lunar eclipse.

"Me and about a dozen or so people were outside on the north side of a barn, attempting to witness the lunar eclipse, which was giving a decent view with just a few clouds," G.C. reported, "I walked around to the east side of the barn to relieve myself and watched an object in the sky," which approached from the southeast.

"It resembled a huge metal kite," observed G.C., who added that he was "looking towards the Huron River just south of Lake Erie" at the time.

"I could see quite well because of the moonlight. Then it started to descend. My curiosity turned to fear when I saw that it was disc-like with rotations underneath. Approximately 100 yards (90 meters) away, slow descent, almost floating. Then hovering about 50 feet (15 meters) over a neighbor's house for about two seconds, then moving east. Then it hyperdrived" and vanished.

Huron is on Ohio Route 6, which runs along Lake Erie's south shore, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) west of Cleveland.

A boomerang-shaped UFO was seen on Saturday, November 8, 2003, at 8:15 p.m. Eyewitness J.B. was outdoors in Brookline, Massachusetts (population 57,107), a suburb 5 miles (8 kilometers) southwest of Boston, "when a strange object approached from the northwest."

"On the night of the recent lunar eclipse, a boomerang shape of about 30 small white lights moved silently across the sky," J.B. reported, "At its closest to me, it was about the width of my fist at arm's length. I couldn't see any object, just the lights. It was far lower than the usual planes and much slower. It moved steadily until it disappeared behind some houses." "The lights were white; nothing else was visible," he added, "Its height was perhaps 1,200 feet (360 meters) high. Departed to the southeast

Other UFO and Alien Reports of Interest...

Did UFO Buzz Bold Power Station?

ST.HELENS secured its lasting place in UFO history this week - via its own official entry in a mysterious X-Files style database. Detective Constable Gary Heseltine, founder of the unique PRUFOS (Police Reporting UFO Sightings) records system, highlighted the almost-forgotten incident in the skies above the town as one of major "Defence Significance."

And - despite its initial logging on police files 25 years ago - Gary insisted that there was STILL NO convincing logical explanation for what happened above Bold Power Station in January 1978...

Pentagon Plans ET Hoax

Imagine this: It is the summer of 2001, and someone presents you with a script for a movie or book that tells how a diabolical terrorist plot unfolds wherein both 110 story World Trade Center towers and part of the Pentagon are destroyed by commercial jets hijacked and flown into those structures.

Of course you would laugh, and if you were a movie mogul or book editor, reject it out of hand as ridiculous and implausible, even for a fictional novel or movie. After all, how could a commercial jet, being tracked on radar after two jets had already hit the World Trade towers...

Mayor Cancels Alien Landing

The mayor of a Brazilian town says he has cancelled a planned landing by an alien spaceship during this week's Brazil v Peru football match. Elcio Berti told Estado de Sao Paulo online: "I cancelled the landing because I was worried they might abduct one of the Brazilian footballers."

Mr Berti, the Mayor of Bocaiuva do Sul, claims to be in regular touch with aliens and says they are helping to fund a UFO landing pad he's building in the town. The mayor first hit the headlines when he issued a decree banning all birth control methods in Bocaiuva do Sul to try and boost the number of pregnancies...

Breaking UFO Reports, (last update, 11-26-03)

Sinaloa, Mexico - Object with strange lights observed
This sightings report was received through the UFO Casebook online reporting form Nov 15 2003 / 11:56:59. The sighting occurred on 10-13-03 at Sinaloa, Mexico. The witness states:

I was driving from Guasave to Los Mochis Sinaloa in northwest Mexico. It was about 10:30 am. I was on my way to the office in my Nissan convertible. Suddenly, right in front of our eyes, and straight overhead of us, we saw a very strange object flying in a strange way. It had shiny colors, and weird shapes in the edges of the craft. It looked like a disc divided from the half. (B J comment: possibly two half-spheres flying in unison?) We stopped the car to watch what was happening.

This "thing" moved slowly but with some kind of trajectory. The object was making a noise, and it could be heard very loudly through the FM band on the radio. It was the same noise that could be heard outside, but much louder. It was so loud, we could hardly stand it, and we could not remove the noise from our minds all night long, after arriving home. I considered that this object might be obtaining energy from the light cables near the road, because of the way it flew. The object seemed to change forms, and eahc time it did, the noise would become louder, and some dogs would start barking.

Argentina-Cameraman videotapes UFO
"A journalistic team of (TV Channel) Canal America 2's (news program) Informe Central recorded several UFOs at a location near Maimara," in Argentina's northernmost province of Jujuy, "and their images are being shown on the Sunday edition of said program." "The experience was made known to (the newspaper) Pregon by Alfonso Bidondo, who guided the team to the site where the contact event took place, only scant kilometers away from Maimara and on the side of National Highway 9."

"Bidondo, who has been devoted to UFO research for some years, claims being able to establish telepathic contact with the crews allegedly aboard these craft." "'The folks from Canal America asked me to take them to see UFOs in order to film them and use these as subjects of research. I told them that, indeed, my telepathic contact with the vehicles led me to that spot in the early morning. We were at the site and, while they interviewed me, the vehicles told me that they were about to appear behind me. We turned around, and one of the vehicles was up above. They were very startled but managed to record it,' claims Bidondo."

"The (news) team, he detailed, was formed by producer Marcelo Peralta, host Martin Ciccoli and cameraman Alfredo Ghilanda."

"When consulted about the characteristics of the object seen, Bidondo described them as 'a very big bright object that passed slowly above us and then vanished. It must have remained for some 15 seconds and then disappeared. Then other lights appeared. The sky clouded and we headed back.'" "Showing the videotaped images of their experience at La Quebrada, he explained, the same members of the news crew 'still couldn't believe it. It was the first time they had seen UFOs, and it seemed an impossibility. But then they themselves became witnesses and were totally amazed.'"

"'Jujuy', explained Bidondo, 'is one of the most important places on the planet because we are in an enigmatic 'tube' through which such craft transit...the atmospheric and electromagnetic field in which northern Argentina is submerged is also an influence.' Despite this, he added, 'the UFO subject is taboo in Jujuy.'"

Brazil-Blue UFO flies over city
On Thursday, November 13, 2003, at 6:30 p.m., "a large disc-shaped object with a blue core, surrounded by an aura of blue light, flew over the city" of Maceio, the seaport capital of Alagoas state in northeastern Brazil. "The object flew at an altitude of 1,500 to 2,000 meters (5,000 to 6,600 feet) and did not emit any sound at all. The UFO traveled along a flight path running north- northeast, parallel to Maceio's beachfront, and passing directly over the large resort Hotel Jatica, where it was seen by dozens of guests."

"The object moved at a relatively slow velocity, and then it changed its luminous aura from blue to yellow. Seconds later, it accelerated rapidly and darted away over the South Atlantic, where it was lost from view."

Wisconsin-Dim yellow lights on perfect triangle UFO
It was the fourth day of deer hunting for me. I just got out to my stand (6:00a.m.). The sun was just starting to show some light on the horizon. On the opposite side, there was a dark blue sky with some stars. Then I heard this low tone noise, like the last low key of a piano. So I looked up to see what it was. There were three dim yellow lights in a perfect triangle formation. It was flying too slow to be an airplane. It came from the south and headed north. I watched this object for about 1 minute. Next, the noise got quieter and quieter until you couldn't hear anything.

Then it froze. All three of the lights got close together until it almost looked like one light. Then the front light flashed twice, it flew up for a couple seconds and just vanished. Five or ten minutes later an exteremly low, jade green airplane came flying from the west and headed north, the same direction the object/objects. The airplane was flying lower than the object. All the edges of this plane were rounded. I heard the turbulence of this airplane for about seven minutes. Rocklin, California-Brilliant white light that pulsated
At 6:05 PST, November 9, 2003. I had gone outside onto my patio which faces eastward and was observing the moon. I then glanced up to Mars and saw it clearly. But about 5-10 degrees from Mars toward South, (nearly in line with Mars) was a brighter object that immediately caught my attention.

My first thought was it was a star, but brighter, whiter, and larger than Mars, and so close to Mars, and I wondered what star is that? It appeared stationary, and then in a second it pulsated, with the white light becoming brighter, more brilliant, then pulsated again, slightly dimming some of the brilliance, then pulsated-enlarging again, to even larger than my original sighting, and then in another second or so, it began to fade and then I was aware of its movement away (southward) and slightly upward, and it faded out to a pin light before disappearing from my view. My observation from beginning to end was approximately fifteen-twenty seconds. Except for a few clouds scattered in the eastern sky, the sky was completely clear in that direction, around and above the object.

Central Chile-Circular red UFO caught on video
Last week Rodrigo Fuenzalida of Agrupacion de Investigaciones Ovniologicas de Chile (AION) unveiled a videotape containing images of a UFO performing maneuvers over Vina del Mar in central Chile. "According to Fuenzalida, the images were the result of research by AION investigator Enrique Silva."

"On (Friday) October 24 (2003), at 4 p.m., the transit of a red-colored object with three protuberances was recorded over Vina del Mar, on the central coast of Chile, moving swiftly over a broad swath of coastline." "The object was seen from the Santa Maria University (campus) headed toward Concan. According to initial calculations, the object's speed was about 300 kilometers per hour (180 miles per hour--J.T.) The flight of seagulls can be seen in the (video) image's foreground."

"Silva's first impression was that he was witnessing three joined weather balloons, but, according to personnel from the Chilean Meterological Office at the FACh (Spanish acronym for Fuerzas Aereas de Chile or Chilean Air Force-- J.T.) bases at Quintero and Santo Domingo, this possibility was dismissed--at least officially." According to Silva and Fuenzalida, "weather balloons are launched from the FACh base at Santo Domingo twice a day, at 8 a.m. and at 12 noon," and the UFO was sighted four hours after the second launch. Also, FACh ballons are filled with hydrogen, not helium, which allows them to reach high altitudes more quickly "and which would allow a greater speed but not enough to match the velocity of the object recorded over Vina del Mar."

Pennsylvania- moving star - sphere with with crescent reflection.
I saw a light moving relatively fast in North-West direction, believing it was an airplane high up in the sky because the light was slightly flickering. But just shortly after I noticed it, it stopped moving, started moving fast in opposite direction and then back the original direction, very slow this time yet noticable. It didn't flicker as much either, it became a steady light. That definitely caught my attention. Two jetliners passed in the sky and they didn't look anything like this object. The jetliners also flew lower than this object, excluding the possibility it was a distant helicopter.

I was staring at this object for a long time, making sure I wasn't looking at a planet, star or asteroid. It was much brighter than any object, except for the moon and those jetliners. It appeared the light was not generated though, but rather a reflection from a spherical object - maybe caused by the bright moon. The reflection was brightest in the direction of the moon and then faded away sharply around a sphere-like edge - a faint crescent similar to a 1% new moon, with a bright spot like that sometimes seen with a solar eclipse. The color at its brightest spot was an off-white/yellow. The crescent was darker, almost turning into a dark red before it completely faded away.
