Southhampton UFO Group

The search for intelligent life in outer space has increased over recent years, not least because the prospect of finding it on earth is diminishing. The Southern Ways on BBC-1 weekdays 6.30 pm has sent presenter Mike Powell out with UFO hunters from the Southhampton group to see for himself if there is any evidence of xtraterrestrial activity. As a weather presenter, Mike knows how the weather can play all sorts of funny tricks. Odd cloud shapes, the hint of the Northern Lights in the sky, and even ball lightning can lead people to believe that UFO's are whizzing about.

David Kingston, one of the group's investigators, is an ex-RAF intelligence officer, and has interviewed many pilots worldwide who believe they have met beings from "other worlds". The amateur film footage he has made available are both instances of objects flying over Dorset, in Dorchester and over Bridport. The Southhampton investigative group is made up of a variety of individuals:

South Hampton 1

One is a pilot who recalls close contact from the age of five and tells of "missing time" in the New Forest he just can't explain.

Another is a College lecturer from Southampton, Craig Roberts, known as an expert in UFOs and during Southern Ways goes into hypnosis to unveil a probing by creatures who experimented on his flesh and eyes.

At times other interested parties join the UFO group as they search the heavens above the Devil's Punchbowl near Winchester. Could they be about to reveal something truly diabolical?

One of the most fascinating eventsinvestigated is what happened over Havant. On Friday March 22, 2002 a fleet of UFOs was seen over Bedhampton, Havant. It was witnessed and videotaped by Anthony Woods, a local resident who has been documenting on video the unusual activity of the unknown flying objects.

He says the activity was so intense it seems to have attracted the interest of the military helicopters whose presence over the area seems to have been increased. Anthony was in the company of his wife Samantha and both of them were amazed of the large number of white luminous spheres that, in perfect formation, seemed to be performing sophisticated manoeuvres in an amazing display of technology.

Anthony Woods says this was the 'Commanding Leader' of the fleet. He said: "I have filmed some stunning footage today! I first noticed a fleet of spheres above my home around midday; there were hundreds of them! Me, my wife and daughter watched them; I taped over 30 minutes of footage.

"They were locked together in strange formations, some moving as others hovered, some were touching each other. There were at least 100 objects, probably more. I have never seen so many together before."

After the initial fleet had departed, there were many single and group objects that appeared. I taped these for about 40 minutes. At 1.55pm the "Commanding Leader" appeared in the scenario in a spectacular display of maneuvering performance. This craft was a huge, dark red glowing, kind of dual big sphere structured object definitely at very low altitude with a rotating sequence. The group feels that they can make a difference, and will not give up their search for the mystery behind the UFO enigma.

Strange Sightings ( B J's Files)

Don't Go Into The Fog

In May 1968 in the town of Chascomus, Argentina, Dr. Gerardo Vidal and his wife loaded up their vehicle, and headed to visit relatives in the town of Maipu. Some friends of theirs joined them in their journey, and drove in another vehicle, taking the lead. The trip was about 100 miles, and somewhere along the line, the lead car lost sight of the Vidals. Not too concerned, they continued until they arrived in Maipu. The Vidals never arrived.

Beginning to think that the Vidals had encountered car problems, the second couple left and retraced the entire route. They found no sign of the Vidals nor their vehicle. After calling all relatives and friends who might have seen the Vidals, and getting no response, they filed a missing persons report. It would be two days before the Vidals were heard from again. Mrs. Vidal was hospitalized because of trauma, but Dr. Vidal was able to relate their strange tale.

He claimed that while driving down the highway suddenly their car was overwhelmed by a dense fog that had appeared out of nowhere. Their next conscious moment was waking in the car, which had been moved to an unknown rural route. Their journey had begun at night, but now it was daylight. Both of the Vidals were suffering from a headache, and had not a clue how they had arrived at their present location. Though feeling drained of energy, Vidal managed to flag down a passing motorist and ask where they were. He was stunned when he was told that not only was he not in Argentina, but 4,000 miles away in Mexico.

The Argentinian Consulate began an investigation into the strange occurrence. The Vidal automobile was examined closely, but nothing was found to shed any light on the mystery. To deepen the mystery, investigators located a man who, on the same night as the Vidal event, was hospitalized in Maipu suffering from shock and nausea with an amazing story of his own. He claimed that his car was "attacked" by a strange fog which suddenly appeared from above, and then disappeared. As strange as the Vidal account may appear, there are a couple of facts that cannot be dismissed. It is an impossibility for the Vidals to have driven the distance from their home to Mexico in 48 hours. The second couple saw and spoke to the Vidals, and watched the Vidal auto on the highway for some time. The Vidals do not remember anything more than the fog, and waking up in Mexico. Could this be an alien abduction where all memory of the event is erased? What else could explain this strange happening?

In November of 1963, on a lonely road outside of Tokyo, Japan in the very early morning, a bank manager was driving his bank director and a client to a meeting when they noticed a car up ahead on the side of the road. Thinking that the car may have encountered mechanical problems, the banker slowed down and pulled up beside the sitting car. The three men could clearly see two occupants in the other vehicle. To the utter amazement of the three, the car was suddenly engulfed inside a foggy mist.

Momentarily, the fog lifted, but the car with its occupants was gone. Authorities were called, but without anything to investigate, the case was soon suspended. This anomalous occurrence could have been the scene of the Vidal occurrence, as seen from the outside. Could this also have been an alien abduction in progress?

Another trip into the unknown was experienced by an Essex, England family of five in October 1974. In the late night hours, the family was driving home, when they were suddenly covered by a strange, green mist. Screaming in fear, the family members could see nothing, but they could feel a hard bump. Their next memory was waking in a spot about 1/2 mile farther down the same road, yet over an hour later.

It would be more than two years until family members were put into regressive hypnosis. This memory retrieving procedure would recall a scenario of alien abduction. The car was "beamed" into a UFO, and a typical physical examination was carried out on the members.

Recent Sightings & News

NEW JERSEY DAYLIGHT DISK SIGHTED

SOMERSET -- On June 17, 2002, a disk was sighted at 10:00 AM moving in a straight line over Somerset. The witness states, "I was stopped at a red light on Howe Lane and happened to look up and saw a bright silver disk moving across the sky rather slowly that suddenly disappeared when a jet plane came into view. What I saw previously bore no resemblance to a plane from any angle. What struck me the most was how the disk was there and then poof, gone. The disk moved slower than any planes that are normally in the area, but it was too far away and too bright to see any details even though I was wearing Polaroid Sunglasses. The surface was reflective and about the size of a penny held at arm's length. Thanks to MUFON HQ and Bruce Cornet.

VIRGINIA PASTOR OBSERVES SILVER UFO

COVINGTON -- A Baptist Pastor while traveling with his family on Highway 64, observed a silver aluminum object on June 8, 2002, flying above the mountains. The object was flying up and across at 100 feet above the mountains. The Pastor says, "When I first noticed the object it was in the shape of a box and about the size of a small private plane." "I tried to show it to my family and I was pointing where to look. Taking my eyes off of it for a moment, it changed to a round bottom cup shape without the handle (the round section being at the top). The sighting lasted about 30 seconds. The craft was not in a hurry really but seemed to be just cruising around. I don't know how it disappeared. I lost sight of it trying to point it out to my family after looking away for just a second. I am a Baptist Pastor and do not believe in little alien dudes with buggy eyes. However I do know that what I saw was not anything I have ever seen in my 42 years on this planet. I am amazed at my close encounter! Thanks to Peter Davenport at the National UFO Reporting Center, http://www.ufocenter.com.

MICHIGAN RED FLYING TRIANGLE WITH SPARKS

BRIDGMAN -- Five friends were sitting around the fire on June 1, 2002, thirty minutes after midnight talking and looking for shooting stars. One witness states, "Out of the corner of my eye in the southern sky, I saw a slow moving light that was a little bigger than a shooting star that changed color from red to orange to white in a matter of seconds." It looked as though it was enflamed, and it shot something out that looked like a spark." My friend shouted out obscenities in disbelief when he saw it go under a cloud and shoot out sparks two more times at about a half second apart. Then it abruptly slowed down, then sped up and suddenly disappeared. The object left a small flaming tail but was too low in my opinion to be space junk. The witness stated, "It was an almost perfect flying triangle with rounded edges heading southeast that lasted a few seconds. Thanks to Peter Davenport Director of NUFORC http://www.ufocenter.com.

WISCONSIN TUBULAR SHAPE AND GLINTING OBJECT

MADISON -- The witness states, "I saw a strange tubular shaped object going south for a moment on June 4, 2002, as I was distracted by another glinting object traveling north. The glinting object seemed to change direction unlike a plane or a helicopter and entered a cloud but continued to glint, when I noticed the tubular shape coming from the north. When I looked back a couple of seconds later, they both had disappeared. Thanks to Peter Davenport Director of NUFORC http://www.ufocenter.com.

COLORADO DAYLIGHT DISK

LITTLETON -- The weather changed today on June 3, 2002, from unseasonably hot to cool and windy as the front moved in and storm clouds appeared. An office worker reports, "As I looked out my office window, I noticed a black, circular shape in the sky that remained stationary for 20 or more seconds at 3:03 PM." He states, "My first impression was that the object might be a rather large balloon within a half mile of my position, but oddly it remained stationary in the wind." "I put my caller on hold and looked more closely. After remaining stationary for about 30 seconds, it began to move slightly, in almost a fluttering way or jagged way, suddenly dipping to the left and downward, and changing shape from circular to more flat. Then it went up again and a little to the right, again becoming more circular, but also changing shape so that it was periodically circular and then more ovoid. It headed back to the left and would remain somewhat stationary and then dip further down. As it got lower, I could see that there was a lighter color on top, almost like the reflection of a dome. There was very little sunlight due to the storm clouds. With that extra shading, the object looked more saucer-shaped. It dipped down until it disappeared behind the shopping mall next to my office, about a half-mile from me. It was smaller than a helicopter, but much larger than a bird. It definitely appeared to be under intelligent control under windy conditions, and the changing shape was also quite dramatic. " Thanks to Peter Davenport Director of NUFORC http://www.ufocenter.com.

CANADA BRIGHT LIGHTS

LONGEUIL (ST-HUBERT), QUEBEC -- The witness and his wife were returning home on June 1, 2002, just before 10:00 PM and while exiting the freeway they noticed many aircraft flying very low with bright searchlights on. I never saw that much activity, even less at night. Off the freeway I noticed two bright lights standing still at a medium altitude, much too low to be stars or planets, and they had no the flashing lights like normal aircraft. We drove closer to the lights, and it was very bizarre there were planes and helicopters flying very low everywhere around the lights. We watched for two hours then the lights disappeared, the other planes flew away not long after. Despite numerous witnesses including police it was not reported in the media. Thanks to Peter Davenport Director of NUFORC http://www.ufocenter.com.

CIGAR-SHAPED UFO FLIES NEXT TO AIRLINER

SYDNEY -- At 4:30 PM, the witness was waiting for a bus in a residential area on June 4, 2002, when he noticed a strange looking object floating above to the north. He states, "There was a longish object like a cigar or tube, white in color, with red lights glowing around it, I could clearly see the red lights." "At this moment a passenger plane was climbing and flew past and I made some comparisons between the two aircraft, he added. I could clearly see the wings, tail, the marks and even the portholes on the airliner. "I could compare them and saw they were about the same size and about the same attitude, but the cigar had no wings, no tail and no specific characteristics to tell me that this was something I have seen before." I thought that if it was UFO, the people in the passenger plane must have seen it in the brilliant cloudless sky. However, there were no newspaper reports. So, I called New South Wales UFO Investigation Center
